Biography: Pound for pound, Yoshihiro Shimoda is considered to be one of the most talented wrestlers on the planet, combining a strong style of kicks, submissions and suplexes to create an at times invincible arsenal, making him always a top contender for the KFD Jr. Heavyweight championship. Shimoda's aspirations as a youth led him to Amateur wrestling during his high school days, where he excelled in his weight class. Shimoda graduated from the FURY Dojo in late 2002, debuting in December of that year. As with any rookie, Shimoda struggled early on. In June of 2003, Shimoda was taken under the tutelage of prized Vale Tudo fighter Kenji Tanamura, who taught him in submissions and kickboxing. Shimoda's training paid off later in the year, as he captured the FURY/KFD Jr. Heavyweight title in a one-night tournament, beating Kenichiro Hujikawa and Kyoto Okazaki. Shimoda's reign as champion went on to be the most illustrious title reign in FURY's history thus far, spanning six defenses -- each against strong opponents. Tanamura disbanded his unit in mid 2004, in order to return to Vale Tudo. Shimoda was quickly offered a position in Hiroaki Nakata's HDU unit, and accepted. Shimoda cemented his status as the strongest Jr. Heavyweight in 2004 when he won the highly prestigious J*TOP interpromotional Jr. Heavyweight tournament. Shimoda faced the top Jr. heavyweights in the world, and seized the prize in a thrilling finals against Hello! Kitty Mask III. After losing the KFD Jr. Heavyweight title to ATSUKA in October of 2004, Shimoda quickly rebounded and formed an openweight ace team with Hiroaki Nakata, as the two captured the KFD Tag Team titles. If that wasn't enough, Shimoda would also add the J1-WORLD League trophy to his collection by winning the tournament in 2005. In 2007, Shimoda began splitting his time between FURY and Northern based Hokkaido Pro-Wrestling, which led to he and Hokkaido star Jin Hiroto to capture the KFD Tag Team titles.
