- Today, the company released its schedule through 5/31. Of course, this month will primarily consist of the 2009 Sakura Tag Festival, which will kick off on 4/16 at Tokyo's JCB Hall, before wrapping up on 4/25 in Osaka. In addition, Volume 4 of Hiroaki Nakata's "BREAK BLOW" event will once again be held at Shinjuku FACE on 4/24. As Nakata announced on 3/20, the next installment will feature a one-night tag tournament, with pairings being chosen completely at random at the start of the show. While a full list of participants have not been confirmed, Nakata did announce on his FURYnet blog that the tournament would see participation from CRIMSON, DYNAMITE, Nansei, Ichimi Pro-Wrestling Gundan and Hokkaido Pro-Wrestling.
For the busy month of May, all roads lead to Kyocera! The month will kick off with a back-to-back doubleheader at Korakuen Hall on 5/04 and 5/05. In fact, May will be an extremely busy month for Korakuen. In addition to the doubleheader, Kyoto Okazaki confirmed on his FURYnet blog that UPRISER'Z would once again celebrate their second anniversary with a self-produced show at Korakuen Hall on 5/20. While details have not been revealed, Okazaki promised an even bigger celebration than last year, which packed Korakuen Hall two times in one day!
Finally, Korakuen Hall will host a special co-promoted show between Pro-Wrestling FURY and Toei Animation called, "KINNIKUMANIA 2009!" Obviously by the name of the event, the show will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the popular Kinnikuman manga. A press conference is expected to be held by FURY and Toei Animation next week to elaborate on the event.
Of course, May will climax with arguably the biggest pro-wrestling event in the modern era, as Pro-Wrestling FURY advances upon the Kyocera Dome in Osaka! Since the rise of Burning Spirit Pro-Wrestling earlier this decade, the former Osaka Dome has been the highest aspiration for promoters. In the last nine years, several have promised to return pro-wrestling to the heights it saw years earlier. But finally, the ultimate dream will be realized on 5/31. A press conference has already been scheduled for 4/25 in Osaka, the day of the Sakura Tag Festival finals, where the concept of the show will be revealed.
