- The 2009 Sakura Tag Festival continued in Kyoto tonight, drawing over 2,300 fans. After a spirited opening bout between Jun Kobayashi and Kazuki Sendo, the tournament rolled along with the fourth night of group stage matches. In the first bout, Akira Takayoshi and Naoyuki Watanabe continued their dominating streak, earning their fourth straight win tonight over the Okinawa Speed Stars. The Speed Stars gave their best against their heavyweight seniors, but despite a spirited effort, Kotaro Ota would eventually find no answer to Akira Takayoshi's Tiger Suplex hold...

- In the next tournament match, the "RED DRAGONS" team of Tetsuhisa NAKAI and Ryuugo Nagashima earned their first victory of the tournament, with the young Nagashima rising above to pin fellow classmen Tetsujin after his R-Bracer sliding elbow. Nagashima was more popular than usual tonight, due to Kyoto's close proximity to Nagashima's home province of Hyogo. NAKAI praised Nagashima afterwards, saying that despite the recent losses Nagashima's suffered, he perseveres and rises to the occasion when it's most vital. There was some hostility between Tetsujin and Nagashima afterwards, as Tetsujin shrugged off Nagashima's handshake. However, Yoshida reprimanded Tetsujin for his poor sportsmanship, and forced him to shake hands with Nagashima, amidst applause from the Kyoto crowd.

- In the B Block, Etsuya Kawachi and Hidaka Kamon scored their first win of the tournament as well, defeating the "Baka Machineguns," Go Taniguchi and Kinniku Kamen Nisei. Kawachi and Kamon aimed to turn their bad luck around by using great team work. Of course, it also helped that Taniguchi and Nisei continued to get into arguments through out the match over whether or not Hisai Tomagotchi had a higher power level than Buffaloman of the Kinnikuman manga (Taniguchi claimed Hisai had a level of 10,000,001, which allowed him to move anywhere on the checker board at will...) In the end, Kawachi KO'd Nisei with the go 2 school for the win!

- We took a break from the tournament as Chikao Kessin, Shigeru Iwasaki, and Kenichiro Hujikawa battled the UPRISER'Z trio of Daisuke Iwata, Kyoto Okazaki, and F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight Champion Shin Kaiju. The match saw Kessin attempt to rebound from failing to defeat Ryo Inoue for the F-MAX Unified Heavyweight title on 4/19. He seemed to be in a particularly nasty mood, as he pummeled Iwata with brutal hammer blows early on. Kyoto Okazaki continued his mimicry of Kazuma Fujita, using his "Outlaw Lariat" to score a near fall over Hujikawa. In the end, Daisuke Iwata once again caused himself to be disqualified after attacking former partner Shigeru Iwasaki with a chain, once again lacerating him above the right eye.

The post match saw UPRISER'Z continuing their rampage on Iwasaki. Kessin and Hujikawa attempted to fight UPRISER'Z off, only to be held back with weapons. Okazaki tore into Iwasaki on the microphone, while also copying some of Fujita's vocal mannerisms. Finally, the crowd ERUPTED in uproarious cheers as KAZUMA FUJITA made a shocking appearance, coming to the aid of Shigeru Iwasaki! Fujita immediately went for Okazaki, only to be blindsided by Iwata's chain to the side of the head! As Fujita was stunned, Iwata winded up for another blow, ONLY TO BE THWARTED BY THE BLOODY IWASAKI! After wrestling the chain away, Iwasaki chased both Iwata and Okazaki off into the isle. Over the microphone, a recovering Fujita said that he grew tired with "Kyoko-chan's" petty insults, and said that he would ACCEPT Okazaki's challenge! However, Iwasaki grabbed the microphone, and asked Fujita for the match to be made into a TAG TEAM MATCH, so that he could step up as Fujita's partner! Fujita agreed, and asked who Okazaki's partner would be... Iwasaki cried out, "IWATA!!" In the isle way, Iwata grinned arrogantly, while nodding his head in acceptance, making the match official for 4/25!

- The tournament continued next, as ATSUKA and YAKUTA battled Jet Jaguar and GALLEON, who were riding a three-match streak of victories since the tournament began. As expected from all four men, the crowd was given an incredible sprint, heading towards the twenty-minute match. But in the end, despite several close near falls between both teams, it would be GALLEON and his limit-breaking Dividing Driver to flatten ATSUKA out long enough for their fourth consecutive win!

- Defending champions Otsuo Kayusa and Kyoshima Yosuken also continued their streak alive, as they overwhelmed the "OSAKA WILD STYLE" team of RYUJI and Manabe Tsuji, giving them their fourth straight win. Despite some close calls, Kayusa managed to finish RYUJI with the Olympic-ASP...

- In the main event, Hiroaki Nakata and Yoshihiro Shimoda battled the F-MAX Tag Team Champions TAKU and Mastodon Fukuda in an important tournament match. The bout was paced slowly early on, with Shimoda and TAKU exchanging holds. Eventually, TAKU's power became too much, forcing him to tag out to Hiroaki Nakata. Unfortunately, he encountered some resistance matching Mastodon Fukuda in strength as well. Both teams traded control as the match progressed. It wasn't until the 20:00 mark that a team made considerably strides towards finishing, as Nakata caught Fukuda with the Dragon Suplex hold. After the kickout, Nakata and Shimoda attempted to use team work to take the bout, only for TAKU to break up the pin every time. Once the match hit the 25:00 mark, both teams picked up the pace, trying their best to avoid a time-limit draw.... Unfortunately, that would be futile in the end, as a flurry of blows between Nakata and TAKU anti-climatically ended with the gong sounding, signaling the draw...

The decision shakes up the standings in the B Block, as Jet Jaguar and GALLEON have shot ahead of TAKU and Fukuda for first place of the B Block!
