[Results] "BREAK BLOW Vol. 5," 5/22/2009 @ Shinjuku FACE

- Hiroaki Nakata drew yet another full house in Shinjuku FACE for the fifth installment of BREAK BLOW, as Hiroaki Nakata's army clashed with Tatsumichi Akamatsu's STRONGHOLD faction in Pro-Wrestling DYNAMITE. But first, Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON's rising powerhouse, Takayuki Ariwa returned to the BREAK BLOW mat to battle fellow heavyweight power fighter, Kyuwa Suzuki. The two had a hard-hitting 1980's style fight, full of hard elbows and chops. But in the end, Ariwa would prove to be stronger after delving into Suzuki's upper body with the spinning "Angelos" lariat!

- We then came to the first of the four matches between the "NAKATA ARMY" and "STRONGHOLD," as FURY youngster Tetsujin battled STRONGHOLD's Daisuke Yamazaki. While short, the two put on an entertaining bout, with the inexperienced Tetsujin winning over fans with his growing size and strength. However, experience was the prime factor, as Yamazaki caught Tetsujin with a scrap buster, knocking the wind out of him just long enough for the three count, giving STRONGHOLD the first win!

- In the second match in the series, Go Taniguchi squared off against Yujiro Higuchi in a rematch of their 3/20 singles bout in the BREAK BLOW ring. While Taniguchi did his best to avenge his loss, Higuchi would once again come out on top after a brutal running boot to the face, followed by a powerful Nodowa Otoshi, giving STRONGHOLD their second straight win! One more victory from them would clinch the series.

- And what better man to win it for STRONGHOLD than the leader himself, Tatsumichi Akamatsu, who faced the formable Masafuji Yoshida! In fact, Yoshida holds a pinfall victory over Akamatsu (which Yoshida noted before the bout) dating back to 2006, as he and Chikao Kessin became the PWC Tag Team champions after being Akamatsu and Makoto Tachibana... However, that was 2006. Three years later, Akamatsu was stronger than ever before, and clinched the series for STRONGHOLD after forcing Yoshida to submit to an STF. After the match, Akamatsu praised Yoshida for his fighting spirit, but said that making mention of that 2006 match was a mistake...

- Despite STRONGHOLD clinching the series, the main event took place as advertised, as Hiroaki Nakata faced Makoto Tachibana in a superb technical battle. The two exchanged holds during the early going, engaging the fans with every attack. But soon, the pace quickened as they exchanged blows back and forth. Tachibana would not just keep up with Nakata, but dominate him at certain points, by using his incredible ground style. And while some fans would become bored of the methodical style, the 409 fans within Shinjuku FACE were glued to the ring. Towards the end, Tachibana finally tried to put Nakata away with bigger moves, including his arm-trap German Suplex, only for Nakata to kick out at 2.5! With Shinjuku FACE solidly behind Nakata, he mounted a brave comeback, before unleashing a flurry of kicks, breaking Makoto's body AND spirit! After BLASTING Tachibana in the chest with a penalty kick, Nakata hoisted Tachibana to his feet before connecting with the Dragon Suplex hold, keeping STRONGHOLD from doing a clean sweep!

The fans erupted in applause for the efforts of both men. Tatsumichi Akamatsu confronted Nakata afterwards. Nakata extended his hand in congratulations, and noted Akamatsu's dominance in the BREAK BLOW ring... However, Nakata said he would rectify this on 5/31! Akamatsu laughed, and said that the chance of him losing would be less than 0%... This amused Nakata, who told Akamatsu that if he was so sure he would win, he should put up his WWA National Heavyweight title! Akamatsu took the bait, and ACCEPTED Nakata's proposal, making their 5/31 clash officially for Akamatsu's WWA National Heavyweight title! Even still, both men proposed one final confrontation before 5/31, with Nakata and a team of his choosing facing Akamatsu and STRONGHOLD on 5/24 in Hyogo!
