- The J1-MAX League tournament continued tonight in Mie in front of a full house. Before the first tournament match could take place, Kotaro Ota appeared before the crowd, and announced that had suffered a leg injury in his 7/07 match against ATSUKA, and unfortunately would be forced to forfeit his remaining three matches... He apologized to the crowd, and said that it was his desire to continue, but needs to consider his future.
Jin Hiroto scored his first victory of the tournament over Hidaka Kamon, who remains without a win in the tournament. Kamon proved to be a challenge early on. In the end however, Hiroto cut him down with a series of blows, ending with the deadly Jumping High Kick to the side of the skull...
Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON's Hayato Saigo faced the troublesome RYUJI in his first tournament match. As usual, RYUJI tried his best to cause a double ring out. He would even try to implicate both himself and Saigo by throwing a weapon into Saigo's hands just as referee Edd Sasaki turned around in an attempt to cause a no contest. Edd Sasaki however saw through the tactic, and allowed the match to continue. RYUJI eventually got frustrated, and tried to actually win the match. In the end however, he was trapped in Saigo's Matsukasa cradle just long enough for the three count, giving Saigo two points!
The tournament continued in the B Block as Shigeru Iwasaki faced Etsuya Kawachi in an enjoyable sprint. Both wrestlers held nothing back, and threw out heavy bombs early into the match. Towards the end, both men traded positions as both tried to shoot off a big move to put the other down. Iwasaki would manage to escape the position for the go 2 school, allowing him to SPIKE Kawachi with the Cross Knell, knocking Kawachi out just long enough to be pinned!
Familiar rivals squared off in the main event, as UPRISER'Z member Kyoto Okazaki battled ATSUKA in a heated bout. Okazaki controlled the early going by dragging ATSUKA to the outside. When ATSUKA finally started to make a comeback, RYUJI and Manabe Tsuji both interfered, allowing Okazaki to take back control. They would eventually be neutralized however, as YAKUTA came to ATSUKA's aid and chased UPRISER'Z to the back. ATSUKA and Okazaki were rapidly approaching the twenty-minute deadline point, causing both to go into a mad dash to finish the other. Both men showed their incredible threshold of pain as both men hit their big moves. The two began to scramble as they passed the 19-minute mark. Okazaki nearly connected with the Otokogoroshi, but as he lifted ATSUKA, ATSUKA escaped, allowing him to take Okazaki to the mat, before trapping him in the Nudo Lagunero! As the 19:20 mark passed, Okazaki tried his best to fight through the pain... However, when it became clear Okazaki was NOT making it to the ropes, "The Outlaw" was forced to tap out, keeping ATSUKA's winning streak alive!
