- From Tokyo's Shinjuku FACE, Hiroaki Nakata held his ninth installment of “BREAK BLOW” in front of over 500 fans. The show opened with Pro-Wrestling DYNAMITE's resident heel duo of Goro Iijima and Niwatori Ogawa facing FURY's Masafuji Yoshida and Tetsujin. The DYNAMITE team were booed heavily early on as they ambushed Yoshida and Tetsujin before the bell. It only took them five minutes to achieve victory after the referee was forced to stop the match after Ogawa sunk in a deep Choke Sleeper on Tetsujin. The two took the microphone and asked if this was the sort of competition that would be in the Sakura Tag Festival. The two demanded a slot in the tournament, promising to embarrass every tag team in FURY...
- “WILD STYLE” met Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON's Makoto Saito and Kazuya Endo in the next match, in something that resembled a hardcore match. Despite the referee warnings, WILD STYLE used chairs early on, forcing Saito to have to fight back with fierce kicks, before eventually high kicking a chair into RYUJI's face. Towards the end however, WILD STYLE managed to isolate the less experienced of the two, Kazuya Endo. RYUJI finally caught him with the diving headbutt to keep him down for the three count. After the match, RYUJI made it clear that they would be entering the Sakura Tag Festival.
- In the next match, Shigeru Iwasaki faced off against Kazuma Fujita dojo graduate Akahito Yamada. As the story goes, Iwasaki and Yamada were friendly, but competitive rivals in the Fujita dojo system. Since debuting, Yamada has fought as a clean wrestler. That was until a couple of weeks ago, when Yamada joined CRIMSON's newest heel faction, “Kyourui 6.” Iwasaki aimed to take Yamada to task tonight, only to be attacked before the bell! Yamada used mostly heel tactics early on, including, but not limited to eye gouging and choking. Iwasaki eventually came back to punish Yamada with fiery kicks to the body. Iwasaki took the fight to Yamada, forcing him to abandon his heel tactics and combat Iwasaki skill-with-skill. The end came sudden however, as Yamada managed to sneak in one final heel trick after PUNTING Iwasaki between the legs after he countered a shoulder throw. With Iwasaki prone, Yamada followed with a small package hold, pinning Iwasaki just long enough for the three count! Yamada bolted from the ring immediately, only to taunt Iwasaki as he made his way towards the back...
- We had the semi final next, pitting TAKU against Go Taniguchi in a very unique match. As the stipulations state as per Go's request, if TAKU loses, he and Go must revert to their old comedy characters (Kinniku Kamen and Hisai Tomagotchi) to reform “The Baka Machineguns.” The two shook hands before the match, establishing a very friendly atmosphere. The two exchanged holds early on, with Go using his size to try to hold TAKU down. TAKU however fought back, eventually knocking Go to the mat with a powerful diving shoulder tackle. The pace picked up as the match progressed, with TAKU controlling. He demonstrated his incredible strength after the first half as he hoisted all 193cm of Go up for a vertical suplex. TAKU eventually aimed to finish Go with the Chojin Bomber, only for Go to counter with a crucifix hold, NEARLY PINNING TAKU FOR THREE! Go finally mounted some offense afterwards, using a flurry of northern chops to wear TAKU down. Go would eventually connect with a Nodowa Otoshi for a two count, followed by a running guillotine drop. TAKU however countered the Tama Tama Drop with a small package hold for 2.5. Both men scrambled to their feet, only for TAKU to strike with a Backslide, this time getting 2.8! Once again, both men dashed to their feet. TAKU struck first with a wild lariat, only for Go to duck, before securing the go-behind. Before Go would act however, TAKU countered, cradling Go with the Samson Clutch, holding tight just long enough to get the three count!
While disappointed, Go accepted deal afterwards, and said he would finally let go of his dream of reuniting the Baka Machineguns... Just as TAKU was about to speak, RYUJI and Manabe Tsuji returned to the ring, ambushing both men from behind! WILD STYLE looked strong early on, until Tsuji mistakenly hit RYUJI with a lariat, allowing TAKU and Go to finally clean house... After running WILD STYLE off, TAKU applauded RYUJI and Tsuji for “growing a pair.” He challenged the two to a match next month at Vol. 10. However, he said their opponents wouldn't be TAKU and Go Taniguchi... Instead, they would have to face... KINNIKU KAMEN and HISAI TOMAGOTCHI, causing Go to faint from excitement.
- In the main event, BREAK BLOW boss Hiroaki Nakata paired with his pupil from Hyogo, Shuji Kido, as they took on the DYNAMITE duo of Riki Ichiro and DYNAMITE President Masafumi Satake. All four men put on a superb technical sprint, with everybody using a blend of strikes, submissions, and suplexes. Towards the end however, it would be Hiroaki Nakata that score the pin after folding Satake in half with his trademark Dragon Suplex hold.
After the match, Nakata held up the WWA National Heavyweight title for all the see, including the #1 contender to that title, Riki Ichiro. Nakata said that it has almost been a year since he won this title from Tatsumichi Akamatsu in Kyocera Dome Osaka, and said his goal was to use the title to motivate and inspire the youth generation of Pro-Wrestling. However, he said that the new generation still had more room to grow before a wrestler would be ready to take the WWA National Heavyweight title. However, Nakata said that he was getting impatient of waiting, and now wanted to look for new goals in his life. After turning directly towards Ichiro, he announced that he plans on vacating the WWA National Heavyweight title on 5/31/2010, one year to the day he won the title, and announced that Riki Ichiro would be his final challenger, as the two face off on 3/27 in Kanagawa. The crowd didn't respond well to Nakata's announcement. Ichiro said that Nakata's declaration meant nothing, as he had no plans of losing on 3/27. Nakata smirked, and said that the match would be at the very least, exciting.
As the show winded down, Nakata thanked the fans for their continued support. He made one final announcement before closing, revealing that both he and Shuji Kido would team together in the upcoming Sakura Tag Festival tournament.
