[5/19/2010] FURY News & Notes

- Tetsuhisa NAKAI's campaign to repeat as CRIMSON's Power Source Champion failed yesterday as he was defeated in the final round by Tenshin Komatsu, a fellow former tournament champion. The match was plagued by interference from RAGNARÖK. Surprisingly however, Komatsu would find an unlikely ally in Pro-Wrestling FURY's own Norihiro Akashi, who aided Komatsu in thwarting RAGNARÖK's intrusion.

- Power Source - Finals: Tenshin Komatsu beat Tetsuhisa NAKAI [FURY] (18:12) with a clutching knee kick.

- Earlier today, Pro-Wrestling FURY hosted an interview between all four teams on 5/31's upcoming F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight Tag tournament, Etsuya Kawachi & Hidaka Kamon, Kotaro Ota & Fumihiko Shirai, Keisuke Rongai & Wataru Yamada, and ATSUKA & Yoshihiro Shimoda. The big surprise however was the unveiling of the F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight Tag titles themselves. The belts share a similar design to the F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight title, only with a blue leather strap instead of white.

President Eizo Hayakawa said that FURY has been looking to create tag titles for the Junior division, citing their “experiment” with the PWC Jr. Tag titles from a couple of years back, but said the time was finally right, and said the titles would be instrumental in the ongoing generation war within FURY's junior heavyweight division.

On being invited to enter the tournament, Rongai and Yamada had conflicting feelings, with Yamada saying that naturally, they are competing on a major league stage, with major league competition. Rongai however cut in, saying they had all of the confidence in the world that they'll find a way to win, and prove they are Kansai's #1 tag team.

Rongai's “Kansai's #1 tag team” line sent ATSUKA into hysterics, who belittled HOT LIMIT by pretending to forget their names by calling Keisuke “Kensuke,” and Yamada “Yamato.” Ota interjected, saying that HOT LIMIT only needed to worry about the OKINAWA SPEED STARS, as they will be their opponents in the semi final round. Ota said that his one major regret thus far is that he and Shirai were unable to win the PWC Jr. tag titles when FURY had possession of them, and said that the 5/31 tournament would be their redemption.

Just as the interview was wrapping up, Hidaka Kamon and Yoshihiro Shimoda began to exchange heated words, forcing President Hayakawa and others to jump in to keep the two separated...
