[10/27/2008] FURY News & Notes

- Since leaving Japan on 10/03, Norihiro Akashi has already been busy crafting his trade in Europe for the first leg of his indefinite learning excursion. Akashi encountered stiff competition immediately, as he faced NWC British Heavyweight Champion Robbie Dixon. Akashi gave a good showing, impressing the English fans, before eventually being submitted by the master technician Dixon.

Akashi has worked several shows since 10/11, primarily competing for All-Star Circuit Wrestling. In his second match for the company, he battled the NWC British Commonwealth Jr. Heavyweight Champion Aldis Levy to a time limit draw, earning him a shot at Levy's title the following week. And to the shock of the English fans, Akashi defeated the much more experienced Levy to earn his very first championship! The match pushed Akashi to his limits, putting him in a situation to either break under the pressure, or rise to the occasion. After an excellent technical sprint, Akashi was able to wrestle the belt away from Levy after pinning him with the Akashi Trap.

Akashi phoned home to Japan that morning, and shared a conversation with all three of his STRONG RIDERS "sempais." Kayusa shouted encouragement to Akashi, and told him to make his mark upon all four corners of the globe before returning to Japan...
