[6/24/2009] FURY News & Notes

- Fujita made his in-ring return sooner than expected, as he took part in a special event to commemorate the 33rd birthday of rival Keiji Takano in Aomori tonight. Fujita, along with fellow FURY star Masafuji Yoshida battled Takano and BURNING PARADISE's Kazushi Matsuo in the night's main event. Aomori came unglued as Fujita and Takano locked horns for the first time since 9/24/2007, and immediately picked up where they left off. In the end, Takano would add an exclamation mark to a joyous night as he used all of his strength to drop the 124kg Yoshida with a brainbuster for the pin. After the bout, Fujita and Takano clasped hands in the center of the ring among a unanimous round of applause. Fujita congratulated Takano on the win, and invited him to possibly advance upon the FURY ring in the future!

Backstage, Fujita told reporters that whatever animosity he and Takano shared years ago no longer exists, and said that they are both focused on the strengthening and longevity of pro-wrestling in Japan. On the invitation he gave Takano to appear in FURY, Fujita smiled and simply said, "I am in favor of whatever gets him in the ring more often!"

The show had further FURY participation, as ATSUKA and YAKUTA scored a victory over the freelancer "Kamikaze Barons," Hans Watanabe and Fritz Takahashi. The Barons ambushed ATSUKA and YAKUTA before the match, using weapons to gain the advantage. ATSUKA and YAKUTA however outclassed them in the art of dirty fighting, en route to ATSUKA using the AT-Z to score the victory over Watanabe.
