- In news that has stunned the Japanese wrestling scene, Tokyo police have indicted Hiroshi Nishida, President of Pro-Wrestling FURY on three counts of tax evasion and two counts of felony money laundering.
At a press conference in Tokyo, lead investigator Hironobu Ito announced that a year-long investigation has found evidence of Nishida using Pro-Wrestling FURY for illegal money laundering dating back to Nishida being promoted to President of the company. Three other individuals from within the company are also being investigated. However, officials are keeping their identities secret until their investigation is completed.
Many alarm bells sounded weeks ago when FURY suddenly canceled their October dates with no explanation given. Officials confirmed that Nishida and the company were both notified of the pending criminal charges, which led to the cancellation of shows.
The officials did not give much detail, other than stating that all of the assets of both Hiroshi Nishida and Pro-Wrestling FURY have been frozen until their investigation can be completed.
While Pro-Wrestling FURY itself has not commented yet, a press conference is expected to be held tomorrow.
