[3/10/2010] FURY News & Notes

- Twelve days after FURY's immensely successful Fukuoka International Center event, Pro-Wrestling FURY announced lineups for its upcoming events, including the ninth volume of Hiroaki Nakata's BREAK BLOW concept.

BREAK BLOW returns to Tokyo's Shinjuku FACE on 3/12, with the focus being around Hiroaki Nakata's upcoming WWA National Heavyweight title defense against Pro-Wrestling DYNAMITE's Riki Ichiro, as Nakata will team with pupil Shuji Kido against Ichiro and DYNAMITE President Masafumi Satake.

In addition, a special singles match has been signed between TAKU and Go Taniguchi with some very interesting stipulations. After TAKU formally joined REAL-ONE at the conclusion of FURY's 2/26 event, Go has had illusions of reforming one of FURY's most beloved comedy tag teams, the “Baka Machineguns” comprised of Hisai Tomagotchi (Go) and Kinniku Kamen (TAKU.) TAKU however has been negative on the idea, prompting BREAK BLOW boss Hiroaki Nakata to step in. During the post show press conference, Nakata approached both TAKU and Go, and proposed the two square off in a singles match on the 3/12 BREAK BLOW card, with the stipulation being if Go wins, he and TAKU will reform the Baka Machineguns. TAKU reluctantly agreed, making the bout official for the show.

Fans of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON know of the recent shift in personality of Kazuma Fujita dojo graduate Akahito Yamada over the last couple of weeks. News has reached FURY's own Shigeru Iwasaki, who was something of a dojo rival of Yamada, prompting Iwasaki to request the match. After calling CRIMSON Boss Yuki Nomura, Hiroaki Nakata was able to arrange the match.

CRIMSON will also send Makoto Saito and Kazuya Endo to face RYUJI and Manabe Tsuji, who are now known simply as “WILD STYLE” (Dropping “OSAKA” from their name.)

While not necessarily at the behest of DYNAMITE, Goro Iijima and Niwatori Ogawa have sent several petitions to FURY's office, campaigning for a slot in the 2010 Sakura Tag Festival. Upon hearing this, Nakata has arranged something of a merit match for Iijima and Ogawa, as they face Masafuji Yoshida and Tetsujin in the opener. A win for Iijima and Ogawa could very well lead to their participation in the Sakura Tag Festival tournament.

- From there, FURY will kick off the 2010 edition of the Sakura Tag Festival. Teams for the tournament will be announced following FURY's 3/16 card. All that is known so far is that the tournament will once again use the two block format. The tournament will open on 3/30 in Tokyo for the annual “TOKYO HANAMI” event before making stops in Kanagawa, Aichi, Kyoto, and finally Osaka on 4/11 for “OSAKA HANAMI.” While this has not been officially confirmed, speculation is that the vacant F-MAX Tag Team titles will be awarded to the winners of the tournament, which could potentially make it the most important Sakura Tag Festival yet.
