[4/07/2010] FURY News & Notes

- The feud between Jet Jaguar and Nobusan appears to be far from over after today. Jaguar was scheduled to hold a special karate seminar for elementary school children. The event was closed off to the public, with only the parents of the children, along with a small group of reporters being allowed into the FURY's Osaka dojo. According to Yahoo! Sports Japan's Fujio Nomura, Nobusan attacked Jaguar towards the tail end of the seminar. Photos show Nobusan using a bamboo sword to bludgeon the F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight Champion, before eventually ripping off Jaguar's mask, before parading it around the dojo, in front of the frightened children.

Hours following the incident, Jaguar stormed into FURY's offices, demanding another match against Nobusan. FURY President Eizo Hayakawa told Jaguar that Nobusan was refusing the match, unless Jaguar put his F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight title on the line... Without hesitation, Jaguar accepted the condition, saying he would risk anything just to get his hands on Nobusan. President Hayakawa made the match official for FURY's 4/11 show in Osaka.

The Japanese tour of Canadian-born, American-signed wrestling duo The Foreshadowing is a roaring success, thus far! With the two men who seemed to be living a Cinderella story in their careers in the middle of a tour, it was difficult to get in touch with them, due to the busy travel schedule. As they rolled into Kyoto, though, Tom and Lucas called together any American reporters who wanted in, and the main Japanese wrestling outlets for a small press conference.

First, they had a few things to say.

Quote from: Tom Sawyer:
“Fans, we are here in Japan not because we only want to win this tag tournament. Oh, how we wants it. We want to win this tournament and hold the esteem of the international audience. We want to light this sucker up, show this tournament that we are a force to be reckoned with! Thanks to the momentum we have behind us, and the bright, shiny future we see in front of us, I have no doubt that the last two shows of the Sakura Tournament will prove... fruitful.”

Quote from: Lucas Harper:
In slow, but good Japanese
“Our fighting is noble. Our skills burn to be used. To our friends in Japan, we promise to work as hard as we can to wrestle well.”

Quote from: Tom Sawyer:
“Block B, we're in it to win it. Two more matches, two more wins, and we get to go back to the US in style. I've worked hard so far, and Kyoto, you're gonna see me work even harder. I'm not gonna hold anything back! His brainbuster! My splash! Between the two of us, and our combined finishing move, the National Razor, that foul guillotine that leaves people down and out, we're loaded for bear.

Neo Baka Machineguns, you're the last team in our block who is proving themselves a real threat to us. We're gonna fight before this whole tournament is over, so I challenge you.

Neo Baka Machineguns, The Foreshadowing is drawing a line in the sand! There can only be one team to walk away from this as the victors of block B! You've got the momentary advantage, but when the National Razor comes crashing down on you, there's only one thing that anybody CAN do... Lose gracefully.”

In the midst of their hype and their tour through Japan, The Foreshadowing is making beau coup bucks off their merchandise, the women of Japan have proven themselves to be huge fans of Tom Sawyer, and Lucas' striking ability is slowly but surely winning the hyper-critical male fans over. With the success of this tour, are The Foreshadowing already considering a second tour through Japan? We'll keep you posted with more info as it comes out!
