Personality: Outside of the ring, Akira is a very lively person, and usually very outgoing by nature. He is a pleasure when giving interviews, and is a favorite of several radio and television programs. In the ring however, he can be very focused and determined. At the same time however, he always fights with a sense of honor, and rarely does anything to be considered anything less than "sporting."

Biography: Akira was the 2nd graduate of Kazuma Fujita's FURY dojo, behind Takashi Otsuka. Akira would be Fujita's first Heavyweight prospect. At the time he was scouted, Akira weighed in at 211lbs. Akira would have made a great addition to any Jr. Heavyweight division, but Akira aspired to become a great heavyweight fighter. As with most of Fujita's students, Akira was an excellent amaresu star who had gained much noterity for his ability to take down any opponent,. no matter what size. Akira spent three years training under Fujita in the FURY dojo, and made his debut on April 20, 2002 in BSPW. Akira had very lukewarm results, much like any rookie. After months of competing for BSPW, Akira journeyed to America to gain much needed experience. He mainly competed for American Independent group G-Shock Wrestling. Akira learned to work on his charisma, as well as polish his already excellent wrestling skills. He returned to Japan several months later, but shocked everyone when he announced that he would not return to BSPW, but instead transfer to "FURY. Came out of his shell near the end of 2003 by advancing to the finals of the Revival Series tournament after defeating Hiroaki Nakata. However, he was unable to defeat ZERO Kubota, but gave him a spirited challenge. In mid 2005, Akira broke out as a new top star, winning the KFD Heavyweight title in a stunning upset over ZERO Kubota at DREAM + INFINITY. After vacating the title due to inactivity, Akira recaptured the KFD Heavyweight title by winning the 2006 FURY #1 ABSOLUTE CUP. Despite being KFD Heavyweight Champion, Akira didn't become the official Ace of FURY until defending his title against long-time friend and rival Hiroaki Nakata on 12/21/2006. After being betrayed by Rising Force leading to the formation of UPRISER'Z, Akira joined HDU, assuming the leader position. Akira was forced to vacate his title for a second time after suffering a freak jaw injury against Chikao Kessin. However, Akira returned months later to win the 2007 F-MAX Summit tournament enroute to regaining his title from Mitsuharu Nogami at Osaka Castle Hall. In May of 2008, Akira forged history as he defeated his mentor Kazuma Fujita to unify the F-MAX Heavyweight title with Fujita's PWC World Heavyweight title.
