Biography: Daisuke Iwata joined the FURY Dojo in 1999, coming from a background in College Baseball where he played Short Stop for the Kobe District Cobras. Iwata was brought up in the dojo as a power oriented wrestler, creating the Assatsu Driver as his main weapon. However, Iwata became infatuated with the old throwback style of the 1970's and 1980's, and spent several months studying under FURY trainer Hiroshita Yagato. As a tribute to Yagato, Iwata began using Yagato's trademark Cobra Twist as a primary move. Iwata formed a formable team with Shigeru Iwasaki early on in FURY's existence. The two had little success within FURY, but won the Kyushu Pro-Wrestling Tag Team titles in early 2004. In 2008, Iwata moved down to the Jr. Heavyweight class to challenge Kyoto Okazaki for his Jr. Heavyweight title. But unfortunately, Iwata was bested. In 2008, Iwata and Iwasaki contemplated their future as a team, and underwent a nine match merit series. While they struggled early on, the team rallied back in the closing matches in the series.
