Biography: Naoyuki was a major athlete in high school and college, having competed in baseball and amaresu. A lifelong fan of wrestling in all of its forms (be it sumo, puroresu or amaresu), Watanabe tried out for the Burning Spirit Dojo after graduation. He was accepted, and began training in March of 2003. While training he was noticed by gaijin legend "The Superstar" Jason Ramsey, and after finishing training with Yujiro was taken under Ramsey's wing. He debuted against his original trainer at BSPW's big Kawasaki Stadium Parking Lot show, showing great promise already. He wrestled on the undercards of RJPW until its closure, before moving on to Yoshikazu Kanda's WSSW, where he formed the "Kodou" team with showa-style star Jun Fuchiyama and his young apprentice, Hideki Takahashi. Watanabe briefly returned to what would become the final incarnation of Burning Spirit Pro-Wrestling.

Afterwards, Watanabe traveled to America and spent several years honing his craft. He made a surprising return in 2008 to be apart of KAZUMA WORLD, where he teamed with mentor Jason Ramsey in the main event against Kazuma Fujita and Tatsumichi Akamatsu to become the PWC World Tag Team Champions. Watanabe showed unfathomable growth in the match, earning thousands of new fans with one performance. Watanabe followed up two months later by pulling off a shocking upset by pinning his mentor, Jason Ramsey in a thrilling encounter.

In May of 2008, Watanabe and Ramsey ended up losing their PWC Tag titles to Masafuji Yoshida and Chikao Kessin. Afterwards, Watanabe shockingly appealed to become a member of the FURY roster, and was welcomed with open arms. He made his debut as an official member of FURY on 6/22/2008 at Korakuen Hall, teaming with Kazuma Fujita.
