Biography: Akashi is truly one of the biggest prospects to date. Akashi excelled in amateuer wrestling and kickboxing during his high school days. Akashi joined the FURY dojo in mid 2006, being one of the last students of the late Hiroshita Yagato. Akashi debuted in May of 2007 against TAKU, losing very quickly. Akashi has since accepted his rookie role, taking every opportunity to learn and absorb any bit of knowledge he can, despite the beatings me may take along the way. Many have compared Akashi's potential to Hiroaki Nakata. Akashi had an eventual last couple of months in 2007, winning the NEW BREED CUP in September, along with becoming a member of STRONG RIDERS. After a slump of losses late in 2008, Norihiro Akashi embarked on an indefinite learning excursion overseas. He'vowed not to return until reaching his full potential. Akashi made an immediate mark in Europe, where he captured the NWC British Commonwealth Jr. Heavyweight title. Akashi returned on FURY's 5/31/2009 Kyocera Dome Osaka event, pinning his senior Kyoshima Yosuken.
