[11/11/2002] News and Notes from Press Conference

- Today inside of the FURY Dojo facilities, the owner of FURY Kazuma Fujita held a press conference. Here is a transcript from the conference.

Kazuma Fujita: I thank everyone for coming here today. I have much to discuss about the current status of FURY. Right now, I would just like to thank all of my students for working hard to make this work. With each show, including the REVIVAL SERIES takeoff show, everyone is improving drastically. Some of the standouts of the class seem to be Hiroaki Nakata, ZERO Kubota, Tetsuhisa NAKAI, Otsuo Kayusa and Kyoshima Yosuken.

Reporter: Fujita-san, can you explain why Nobusan and Taku Okamoto are not booked for the series?

Kazuma Fujita: I felt, along with Yagato-san that they could benefit from some more training. Unfortunately Okamoto was injured and as of right now, I do not know the extent of his injuries and could not predict when he would be able to return. Nobusan on the other hand will return on either the 29th or the 30th. He is booked on the 30th against FURY's newest project, Kinniku Kamen.

Reporter: Kinniku Kamen? What can you tell us about him?

Kazuma Fujita: Kinniku Kamen is a student we took on and decided to give him this gimmick. It is based off the popular Kinnikuman manga. He will use the same moves that Mantaro and Suguru. (Characters in the manga. Suguru was the original Kinnikuman in the first series. Mantaro is his son and would also become Kinnikuman Taro Kinnikuman Nisei.) Including the Kinniku-Buster (Muscle Buster) and Kinniku- Driver (Modified Liger Bomb).

Reporter: Will the Visual Spirits defend the Tag Team titles? It's been rumored.

Kazuma Fujita: They will defend the tag team titles. I called upon a favor from MY boss, Koji Tanaka and he will send ATSUKA and the BSPW Revolution Champion Tokyo REECO and together, they will challenge the champions the Visual Spirits.

[The crowd gasps.]

Reporter: Will you allow the FURY Tag titles to be defended in BSPW if ATSUKA and REECO win the titles?

Kazuma Fujita: I will allow it.

Reporter: Will there be any other BSPW involvement anytime soon?

Kazuma Fujita: I feel right now that it is important to establish my students as stars. If Tanaka-san offers to send people down here, I will be happy to accept them.

Reporter: Speaking of outside involvement, BETA and Oita Pro- Wrestling?

Kazuma Fujita: BETA and FURY have an ongoing relationship. They are sending Keoni Murata and Nobu Shimizu to compete on 11/29 against a unnamed FURY team. I am open to sending Nobusan down there for this series to help with his training. As for Oita Pro, I have to admit that I am a fan. [Laughs.] I have briefly spoken with the owner of Oita and I am open to the idea of working with them. It is just a matter of us getting together and discussing it.

Reporter: Will Akira Takayoshi be returning?

Kazuma Fujita: We made the decision that after Takayoshi returns from his excursion in America; he will come to FURY and not BSPW.

Reporter: Was this Tanaka-san's decision? Or yours?

Kazuma Fujita: It was mutual.

Reporter: It's been years since we've seen UJPW stars. How are they doing?

Kazuma Fujita: I'm looking forward to the two matches. I haven't seen any of them in years. They were all inspirations to me and helped guide me. Age may have caught up with them, but I am sure they will entertain the fans.

Reporter: Any other information about the show?

Kazuma Fujita: Thanks to some backing from Tanaka-san, the 29th and 30th show will be taped for GAORA. It will air on December 6th. There is a chance that the rest of the tour will be taped and highlights of the tour will be aired on the 3rd. But right now that is not official. I thank everyone for coming here today, and appreciate the support you show for FURY.
