[4/16/2009] FURY News & Notes

- Pro-Wrestling FURY held a press conference today following their 4/16 Sakura Tag Festival kickoff in Osaka to introduce the first four females to graduate the FURY Dojo!

In a press event hosted by President Hiroshi Nishida, he introduced the four girls to a small group of reporters for the first time, along with the three that taught them the most in FURY's dojo, ATSUKA, Otsuo Kayusa, and Jet Jaguar!

ATSUKA spoke first, and introduced 18-year old Ai Sukamoto. ATSUKA explained that Sukamoto had been studying in the dojo since the first of the year, and like the other two girls, had progressed at a rapid degree. He said that he took an interest in Sukamoto due to her almost "tom-boy" like demeanor, and said he gave her the nickname of "Punk Princess." Ai casually introduced herself to the reporters, and promised to give her all in her debut.

Otsuo Kayusa spoke next, introducing 20-year old Kaori Hamaguchi. Kayusa explained Hamaguchi's background, as she came from a history in amateur wrestling, much like himself and the other member's of STRONG RIDERS. She immediately clicked with Yosuken, Hujikawa, and himself, and said she became a spiritual member of STRONG RIDERS along the way. Hamaguchi thanked Kayusa for the kind words, and promised to do her best.

Finally, Jet Jaguar introduced the final graduate, as a female representation of Jet Jaguar appeared, as Jet announced her as "Jaguar Dream." Jaguar boasted Dream's skills as being highly evolved for someone of her experience. Of course, Dream's identity, much like Jet's, is a secret. But what Jet did reveal was that she had a proficient background in kickboxing and judo, which lends to her style. Dream bowed to the reporters, and also promised to do her best in her debut...

Of course, the reporters were eager to find out just when the three girls would be making their in-ring debut. And to the surprise of the reporters, President Nishida announced that the girls would not be apart of the FURY roster, but instead would become regular members of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON's "ATTACK GIRLS" concept. Nishida cited that there were not enough female wrestlers on the FURY rosters for them to compete against. This way, all three will be able to gain vital experience competing against a wide variety of opponents.

The three spoke openly to the reporters next. Sukamoto announced that she would be changing her ring name to "AISUKA" as both a play on her name (Ai+Sukamoto) and a tribute to her mentor, ATSUKA. She also seemed to develop a similar attitude as ATSUKA, as she said she was only interested in having fun in the ring, and said that she hoped the stars of ATTACK GIRLS weren't "boring." ATSUKA scoffed, saying AISUKA was a "silly name..." AISUKA quipped back, "What was that, old man!? You once dyed your hair green, and you have the balls to call me 'silly'!?"

Hamaguchi said that she was excited at the chance of debuting, and said that she wanted to test her skills against wrestler's of different styles, to see what styles matched up against hers. She promised to represent FURY proudly in the ATTACK GIRLS ring.

Finally, Jaguar Dream said that her interest was to be a hero for young girls across Japan, and wanted to attract a new demographic to pro-wrestling events. This caused Jet Jaguar to foolishly blurt out, "...Yeah, I'd like to attract young girls as well..." Within an instant, Jaguar immediately realized his blunder, and apologized for his remarks...

While exact details have not been finalized, all three will debut on ATTACK GIRLS' next event on 4/20 in Iwate!

- Elsewhere, Hiroaki Nakata revealed the concept for his next BREAK BLOW event on 4/24. As previously announced, the show will feature a one-night tag tournament, with teams being determined by random lottery. Many of the BREAK BLOW regulars will return, including CRIMSON's Akahito Yamada and Takayuki Ariwa, along of course with DYNAMITE's Ace Tatsumichi Akamatsu and fellow STRONGHOLD member Daisuke Yamazaki. However, the tournament will also feature participation from former Visual Spirits member Jin Hiroto of Hokkaido Pro-Wrestling and Ichimi Pro-Wrestling-gun's Hiromi Hasegawa, along with former FURY Dojo graduate Kyuwa Suzuki!
