- The 2009 Sakura Tag Festival continued tonight in Kanagawa, drawing a packed crowd of over 2,500 fans. The show kicked off with a six-man tag pitting the team of Shigeru Iwasaki, STRONG RIDERS's Kenichiro Hujikawa, and NEW FORCE's Kazuki Sendo against the UPRISER'Z trio of Daisuke IWata, Kyoto Okazaki, and Shin Kaiju. The match had several interesting notes. As usual, Iwata and Iwasaki continued their violent rivalry, with Iwata cutting Iwasaki open after using the ring bell hammer, which eventually led to him being disqualified... However, another interesting note saw Kyoto Okazaki openly mocking the soon-to-be-returning Kazuma Fujita, going as far as to try and pin Sendo with an "Outlaw Lariat." Whether or not this will raise the ire of FURY's returning patriarch has been yet to be seen...
- In the other non-tournament match of the night, Chikao Kessin and Jun Kobayashi battled the T.A.P. duo of F-MAX Unified Heavyweight Champion Ryo Inoue and FURY Dojo graduate Yuichi Miwa. The crowd had a vested interest in this match, with the rabid crowd solely behind Kessin in his persuit to become F-MAX Unified Heavyweight Champion. However, in the end, Inoue would be the one to show his dominance, as he forced Kobayashi to submit to a sleeper hold. After the match, Inoue continued to show no respect for the F-MAX title, going as far as to HURL it at Kessin! This provoked Kessin, who lunged at Inoue, only to be held back by other wrestlers. Kessin promised to make Inoue pay for his disrespect on 4/19.
- In night two of the Sakura Tag Festival, we began with two teams seeking out their first win, as Masafuji Yoshida and Tetsujin faced the "OSAKA WILD STYLE" team of RYUJI and Manabe Tsuji. While Yoshida and Tetsujin made some good strides early on, the inexperience of Tetsujin would be exposed, as Tsuji caught him with the Guts Coaster to give he and RYUJI their first win... The A Block continued as STRONG RIDERS battled the Okinawa Speed Stars. Ota and Shirai gave their all by trying to use their agility to gain an edge. But eventually, Kayusa caught Ota before finishing him with the Olympic-ASP, giving the defending champions their second win... In the B Block, TAKU and Mastodon Fukuda continued to look strong as they defeated the NEW FORCE team of Etsuya Kawachi and Hidaka Kamon, as TAKU used the Chojin Bomber to put Kawachi away... Elsewhere in the B Block, ATSUKA and YAKUTA avenged themselves after their first loss to Nakata and Shimoda, as they defeated the "Baka Machineguns" team of Go Taniguchi and Kinniku Kamen Nisei. As usual, the match was filled with an assortment of comedy between ATSUKA and Nisei, forcing YAKUTA to have to come in and slap some sense into ATSUKA... In the end, ATSUKA foiled Nisei's antics with the Viento Clutch, giving them their first win... In the semi final, Hiroaki Nakata and Yoshihiro Shimoda faced off against the current PWC Jr. Tag Champions, Jet Jaguar and Nansei's GALLEON in arguably the match of the. night Both teams put it all on the line in a bout full of drama. In the end, the DREAM HEROES would pull off a HUGE upset, as Jaguar used the Spiral Bomb on Shimoda to keep him down for the three count! Despite being embarressed, Shimoda accepted the loss, and praised Jaguar for his skill... Finally, we came to the main event, as "TakaNabe-gun" faced the "RED DRAGONS" in a spirited bout. Ryuugo Nagashima looked even more impressive after last night, having seemed to have gained some newfound confidence working under Tetsuhisa NAKAI. But in the end, despite a good showing, Nagashima would find his shoulders pinned down at the hands of Watanabe's Dragon Suplex hold.
