Pro-Wrestling FURY has released the full card for its 12/21 Pay-Per-View event from Kobe World Hall in Hyogo.
As most know by now, the main event of FURY WORLD 2009 will pit the F-MAX Unified Heavyweight Champion Otsuo Kayusa against the 2009 F-MAX Summit tournament winner Naoki Fukuda in an all-out battle to determine FURY's strongest heavyweight wrestler. It was only after Fukuda won the tournament on 11/25 that he revealed that he was Kayusa's kouhai in the FURY dojo, adding another element to this match. It will no doubt be the biggest match of Fukuda's career. For Kayusa however, it is simply another man hoping to take the F-MAX Unified Heavyweight title. Kayusa has vowed that both he and Fukuda will put on a match worthy of his historic night.
The semi final will see a huge dream match as “The Terrorist” Ryo Inoue will face off against “The Superstar” Jason Ramsey. The match was originally scheduled to be held in Superstar Pro-Wrestling sometime in 2010. Inoue however rejected the idea, insisting that the match be held on neutral ground. Kazuma Fujita however stepped in when the opportunity arose, and arranged for the match to be held in Pro-Wrestling FURY's ring. This will be the first time both legends have faced one another in over eight years after two prior matches in Genji Yamato's Japan Pro-Wrestling Association (For historical purposes, Inoue won both matches.)
FURY WORLD 2009 will also see GALLEON of Nansei Nihon Pro-Wrestling attempt to take back the company's All Pacific Jr. Heavyweight title as he faces current champion Kotaro Ota. Since winning the title in August, Ota has had something of a career resurgence after a mostly lackluster 2009 year. He has proven successful in defending the title on two occasions. But now, he faces his strongest challenge to date in the “Roaring Lion of Hyogo,” Nansei Nihon Pro-Wrestling Ace GALLEON!
The F-MAX Tag Team titles will be on the line as well, as Akira Takayoshi and Naoyuki Watanabe make their V3 defense of the titles. Their opponents come as something of a surprise, as they will face the “LEGENDS” team of Kazuma Fujita and KEIJI TAKANO! After facing off against one another on 11/18, Fujita and Takano ended their rivalry once and for all. Now, the two legends pair up to face this year's Tag Team MVP, Akira Takayoshi and Naoyuki Watanabe!
For only the second time in FURY history, 12/21 will mark the return of the 6WAY Mascara contra Caballera cage match! This year's match will see Jet Jaguar, Etsuya Kawachi, Fumihiko Shirai, ATSUKA, Yoshihiro Shimoda, and Kyoto Okazaki square off in a free-for-all. While Jaguar's F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight title will not be on the line, the first wrestler (barring it being Jaguar himself) to escape will earn a shot at the F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight title. The match will continue until four of the six have escaped the cage, where the final two will then go at it under normal rules to see who loses either their hair or their mask.
Hiroaki Nakata will also make a defense of his WWA National Heavyweight title, facing protege Shuji Kido, who became the #1 contender after winning a one-night tournament back on 12/05. Kido surprised many by actually beating Nakata during his 2009 F-MAX Summit campaign. Can Kido continue his rise up the heavyweight ranks? Or will Nakata show that experience still perseveres over youth?
Tetsuhisa NAKAI and Norihiro Akashi will also square off in the rubber match of their rivalry. The two first met on FURY's anniversary event on 10/25 in a pitched battle that saw NAKAI down Akashi in just under seven minutes. Akashi however gained a measure of revenge in pinning NAKAI in the semi finals of the F-MAX Summit tournament, albeit via flash cradle. Now, both wrestlers will face off to determine the strongest! Will Akashi continued his meteoric rise to the top echelon of FURY, or will the Raging Dragon NAKAI squash Akashi's Burning Spirit once and for all...?
