- Kazuma Fujita, along with 198cm "Greco Superman," Mamoru Sekishima, held an open training session from the FURY dojo in Osaka. Reporters gathered as Fujita gave Sekishima some final words of advice before Sekishima's much anticipated ring debut on 7/06 in Hyogo.
Fujita ran Sekishima through much of the drills students have to endure everyday, such as the repetitions of squats, sit-ups, push-ups and stretches. One reporter remarked Sekishima's amazing flexibility, noting a man of his use is rarely that limber. Sekishima said that while wrestling in high school, he was also active in the school's yoga club, and attributes part of his success in Greco-Roman wrestling to it.
Sekishima was later asked what wrestler he aimed to pattern in the ring. Sekishima laughed, before saying, "...of course, it will be Fujita!" While partially joking, Sekishima stated that he planned on using the lariat as a primary offensive attack, and hoped that Fujita would teach him the secrets to the attack, and the keys to strengthening your arm for the move. In addition to the lariat however, Sekishima said he wanted to use a style of wrestling that would reflect his background in Greco-Roman wrestling.
After the workout, Fujita bestowed heavy praise on Sekishima, noting while his daily training regime usually leaves students winded, Sekishima has the stamina to go through another set. He told Sekishima to do his best come 7/06, and to leave a lasting impression on the fans. In closing, Sekishima asked to support him in his upcoming debut, and promised to give everything he had!
- Elsewhere, the members of NEW FORCE made a surprise appearance on the popular variety program "Arigatou! Company." The three were apart of a larger panel of other television celebrities. Host Riki Takashima, a noted pro-wrestling fan interviewed them towards the end of the show.
Riki referred to Kawachi as "sensei," but said it had appeared that he was no longer teaching... Sadly, Kawachi admitted that he was currently unemployed as a teacher, noting the global recession, but said that he still offers private English lessons. This made Kamon laugh hysterically, noting that Kawachi has absolutely no grasp of English. This led to a segment where Takashima presented Kawachi with a series of flash cards with words written in Japanese that he would have to translate into English. This resulted in some amusing moments, such as him being unable to remember the English word for "dog," which led to Kawachi barking in frustration...
Akira was also the subject of much talk, as Takashima questioned him about his marriage to J-Pop Idol Mariko Shibutani... Akira told the story of their marriage in Okinawa during FURY's company vacation, noting that 90% of the guests were wrestlers, which seemed to upset Mariko. However, Akira said that she has accepted what he does, and supports him in everything she does. Akira was also asked what her "finishing move" was. Akira blushed, having been caught off guard at this absurd question. Akira finally said he had no idea, but said he would probably not be able to kick out of it at 2.9...
