[Results] "TOKYO HANAMI 2010," 3/30/2010 @ JCB Hall

OOC: I have to apologize for the poor quality of the show. I've had a wicked chest cold since Sunday. This isn't exactly how I envisioned this, but at the risk of it being WEEKS late, it'll have to do.

- Pro-Wrestling FURY was scheduled to kick off their fourth Sakura Tag Festival tonight in Tokyo's JCB Hall. However, on this night, things would be changed. Newly appointed FURY President Eizo Hayakawa appeared before the fans at the start of the show. To the surprise of the 3,000 fans in attendance, He announced that FURY would be moving in a brand new direction, and would no longer put on “fake fights.” Hayakawa's words left the fans stunned and confused, not knowing what to make of it. Hayakawa announced that all FURY bouts would be legitimate fights from this point forward.

Hayakawa introduced some new rules for the matches tonight, which were all tag bouts. The main rule being that partners COULD NOT enter the ring until they are tagged in. In addition, there will no longer be rope escapes or outside fighting. Hayakawa finally thanked the confused fans, while promising to revolutionize Japanese Pro-Wrestling!

- In the first match of the night, Masato Osagawa and Mamoru Sekishima faced Tetsuhisa NAKAI and Norihiro Akashi to kick off the new era of Pro-Wrestling FURY. There would be no tags unfortunately, as rookie Mamoru Sekishima used his excellent Greco-roman background to dominate NAKAI, before ultimately muscling him to the mat and forcing him to submit to a grounded headlock...

- Next, Daisuke Iwata and YAKUTA scored a victory over Jun Kobayashi and Kenichiro Hujikawa in what would be the longest match on the show. The fans booed the early going, as YAKUTA and Kobayashi appeared to be hesitant about fighting one another. They eventually tagged out, bringing in their respective partners. After some stalling, Hujikawa finally cracked Iwata with a sloppy right hook, nearly KO'ing him. Iwata however came back, and managed to take Hujikawa to the mat with a double-leg. After softening Hujikawa up, Iwata moved to the side, where he began PUMMELING Hujikawa with punches, busting his nose open! Just as the referee was about to jump in, Iwata cradled Hujikawa as hard as he could, allowing the referee to count the three!

- The third match on the card would only go forty-four seconds, as Naoki Fukuda and Shigeru Iwasaki made short work of RYUJI and Tsuji, after Iwasaki caught Tsuji in a cross armbreaker. Tsuji refused to submit, causing the limb to BREAK, forcing the referee to stop the match! The fans were HORRIFIED by this, with many of them getting up and leaving...

- Hiroaki Nakata and Shuji Kido scored their first win of the tournament over TAKU and Go Taniguchi. Kido would stand out in the match, and used his superb striking to keep TAKU at bay. Frustrated, TAKU tagged out to Taniguchi. From here, the bout stalled for the next couple of minutes, until Kido finally managed to ground Taniguchi, before easily submitting him with a cross armbreaker.

- In the semi final, DYNAMITE's Goro Iijima and Niwatori Ogawa relished in the new ruleset, as Ogawa tore through Chikao Kessin in mere minutes, before ultimately catching him in a rear naked choke. Rather than tap out. Kessin passed out into unconsciousness, forcing the official to step in...

- With a little over 200 fans left in JCB Hall, defending champions Akira Takayoshi and Naoyuki Watanabe faced Tom Sawyer and Lucas Harper, “The Foreshadow” representing American organization Defiance Wrestling... Apparently, the foreigners were not clued into the new direction. The match started immediately with Watanabe taking Sawyer down to the mat, before throwing HARD knees to the body, much to the surprise of Sawyer. While holding Sawyer down for dear life, Watanabe continued his assault, before throwing ANOTHER knee to the body, prompting Sawyer to audibly blurt out, “NOT SO HARD, GOD DAMNIT!” Watanabe finally grabbed hold of Sawyer's arm, before LOCKING IN A CHICKENWING ARMLOCK! Sawyer began SCREAMING, “HE'S SHOOTING! HE'S FUCKING SHOOTING!” This caused Harper to jump into the ring, where he PUNTED WATANABE IN THE FACE, FORCING THE REFEREE TO CALL FOR THE DQ!

The Foreshadowing left the ring immediately, visibly angry... This brought out President Hayakawa, who heralded the show as a “major success.” What fans were left in the building hurled garbage into the ring, letting Eizo Hayakawa know what they thought of his new direction... Finally, he announced that the 4/01 show in Kanagawa was now cancelled, due to a laundry list of injuries...
