Biography: Masato Osagawa began his career as a independent level pro-wrestler in 1998, but found little success. After an excursion to Mexico, Osagawa was given the persona of El Nuevo Monstruo (The New Monster), a second generation version of the "El Monstruo" character used in Mexico during the 1980's. He brought the character with him to Japan, while translating the name to "Shin Kaiju." Kaiju made his Japanese landing in Project BETA, where he dominated the company's Junior Heavyweight division. Kaiju eventually left BETA (Now renamed "Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON") to test his mettle against Junior Heavyweights from other companies. He quickly found a home in the major league organization, Pro-Wrestling ZION. There, he quickly established himself as the man to beat in their Junior Heavyweight division after unifying BETA's System Crash title with the WWA/NeWA Cruiserweight titles. After leaving ZION, Kaiju wandered various Japanese indies, before finally settling in Pro-Wrestling FURY as a member of UPRISER'Z. Once again, Kaiju established himself as the strongest junior heavyweight wrestler after capturing the F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight title. As he entered FURY, he developed an incredible feud against fellow masked wrestler Jet Jaguar. The two would spent nearly two years feuding off-and-on. The rivalry would reach its peak in mid 2009 after Kaiju began to attack Jaguar's mask during matches. The two exchanged wins in two singles matches in June and July, leading to a Mascara contra Mascara match to headline FURY's 8/11/2009 Ryogoku Kokugikan show. In the end, Jaguar bested Kaiju to not only win the F-MAX Jr. Heavyweight title, but also Kaiju's mask. Kaiju formally revealed himself to be Masato Osagawa, and promised to begin a new chapter in his career. While Osagawa's size was always bordering on being a heavyweight, he had spent most of his career competing primarily as a Junior Heavyweight. However, after unmasking, Osagawa announced his plans to become a heavyweight wrestler.
