[2/28/2009] FURY News & Notes

- Pro-Wrestling FURY proudly revealed the full lineups for its upcoming international tour in March. The series will span three shows across California, Hawaii, and Taiwan! From the FURY offices in Osaka, President Hiroshi Nishida revealed the cards one by one, first focusing on the 3/07 show in Burbank.

One of the first things Mr. Nishida noted as a special series of matches arranged for each show, noting that Kinniku Kamen Nisei had received an invitation to compete in the intergalactic "CHOJIN OLYMPICS." However, Nisei will first have to defeat at least one of three opponents put before him. The first of these trials will take place in Burbank, California, as Kinniku Kamen Nisei will face the descendant of one of Nisei's past ancestors great rivals, a man known as "Terryman Nisei," hailing from Texas, who stands at around 193cm and 115kg. Nisei, who was present for the press conference, commented on his first opponent, promising to overcome the difference in size, and destroy his opponent with the Kinniku Buster!

Other matches include the first of three matches pitting NEW FORCE head-to-head with STRONG RIDERS, as Akira Takayoshi and Otsuo Kayusa prepare for their #1 contenders match when FURY returns to Japan on 3/21. On 3/07, it will be the NEW FORCE team of Akira, Naoyuki Watanabe, and Etsuya Kawachi facing Kayusa, Kyoshima Yosuken, and Kenichiro Hujikawa.

Speaking of STRONG RIDERS, Norihiro Akashi will compete in the FURY ring for the first time since 9/21/2008, challenging for local California independent G-Shock Wrestling's Heavyweight title, as he faces "The Greater" Marcus Dixon in the night's main event. If Akashi were to win, this would be the second championship he has captured since embarking on his training excursion, as he captured the NWC British Commonwealth Jr. Heavyweight title in October for a brief time, while touring Europe.

For those unaware, President Nishida reminded everyone of FURY's long lasting partnership with G-Shock Wrestling, which is headed by former BSPW foreign star, Stevie C. Mr. Nishida noted that several of FURY's wrestlers have competed in GSW's ring over the years. In addition, GSW's Independent Tag Team titles were featured in FURY for several months, as many of FURY's Jr. Heavyweight tandems had held the belts, including Etsuya Kawachi and Hidaka Kamon.

Along with Marcus Dixon, the show will be more participation from G-Shock wrestlers, as the "So-Cal Sensation" Christian Lockheart will team with Fumihiko Shirai earlier in the show, as the two face NEW FORCE's Hidaka Kamon and Kazuki Sendo. Along with that, phenomenal aerialist "Mr. MVP" Michael Van Patrick will form a certainly quirky team against Masafuji Yoshida, Tetsujin, and Jet Jaguar.

Moving onto 3/10, FURY will run its first show on the island of Hawaii, from the 800 seat Waikiki Shell Amphitheater. In Nisei's second tryout, he will face yet another descendant of Nisei's ancestor's rivals, "Prince Kamehame Nisei." Nise again provided some background on his opponent, noting his "100 Killer Attacks," consisting of 48 techniques, and 52 submissions. Nisei admitted that he was still in the process of researching these attacks, but promised that he had discovered the secret to countering 21 of the 100 attacks, and once more promised a complete victory!

The show will be headlined with Tetsuhisa NAKAI, ATSUKA, and YAKUTA battling the UPRISER'Z trio of TAKU, Mastodon Fukuda, and Kyoto Okazaki. The bout will be yet another preliminary skirmish between TAKU & Fukuda and ATSUKA & YAKUTA before their undecided clash for the F-MAX Tag Team titles.

Finally, FURY will co-promote a major show with musician Alan Tao from the 15,000 seat Taipei Arena. Already, the show has been confirmed as a sell out, combining the popularity of Tao, along with the growing popularity of Kazuma Fujita, who's past matches have begun airing over the last nine months. While Fujita will be unable to compete in the ring by 3/18, he will greet the fans during the show.

In the third and final trial for Kinniku Kamen Nisei, he will, yet again, face an descendant of Nisei's ancestor's rivals, facing the mysterious martial artist, "Ramenman Nisei," who actually hails from China. Nisei once more provided some insight, noting his ranking of over "970,000". He noted Ramenman Nisei's specialties as the camel clutch, leg lariat, and his special "102 Chojin attacks." As Nisei read that, he paused for a moment, before groaning, noting that he was tired of researching counters to special attacks... With somewhat deflated enthusiasm, Nisei promised a victory yet again...

The night's main event will feature the debut of "Funsha Tianlong," a new manga character in China that is rising in popularity. Jet Jaguar appeared and revealed a large poster, showing a full-sized image of the costumed character. Jaguar also mysteriously announced that he would be forced to miss the 3/18 show for an unspecified reason, but wished Tianlong the best of luck in his pro-wrestling debut! Tianlong will team with Tetsuhisa NAKAI and Hiroaki Nakata, as they face the UPRISER'Z trio of TAKU, Mastodon Fukuda, and Shin Kaiju.

TV. In addition, the two-part GAORA special will showcase not just the two American shows, but will also follow several of FURY's wrestlers around the United States, as they take in the sights and culture.
